On Saturday 18 January the internet went wild after Madonna posted a picture of her son Rocco during what appeared to be boxing lessons and captioned it: "No one messes with Dirty Soap. Mama said knock you out! #disn*****". After a torrent of angry comments, the singer took it down and reposted with the caption: ""Ok let me start this again. #get off my d*** haters!" People continued to show their indignation because she did not seem apologetic.
She later went onto Facebook to post an apology, stating that she used the 'N' word as an affectionate term for her son and not a racist slur.
