Anita Joseph, Afro Candy deny charging for audition

Although the Actors Guild of Nigeria frowns at
movie makers collecting screening fees from
wannabe actors during auditions, Saturday
Beats gathered that actress Anita Joseph and
Afro Candy charged some young people N7,
000 to be auditioned in their up and coming
movie.
But when Saturday Beats contacted Anita, she
quickly distanced herself from the incident
claiming that the project was for Afro Candy
and she only helped with casting. She told
Saturday Beats that she got to the venue late
and even saw some people leaving.
"I was not the one that called for auditioning.
It is not my business, it is Afro Candy's job
and I do not know if any money was
collected. I just helped in with the casting. I
do not know anything about that and I do not
know why they would mention my name.
When I got there, people were already leaving
so I don't know why they would mention my
name. Why would people be talking such
rubbish? When I came, people were already
leaving so what is my business with that," she
said.
However, when Saturday Beats contacted Afro
candy who is based in the US on the phone,
she rudely said the N7, 000 she collected was
'membership fee'.
"They have to be a part of my company
before they can feature in my movie. Other
people in the industry do it and they even
charge as high as N10, 000 or more. Most
times, they don't even bother to feature these
people. People knew what I was coming for
because I advertised it on the poster. You
should go and do your f**king research
before calling me," she rudely fired back
before cutting off the line.
