Facebook Marriages May Not Last ––Pastor Adeboye Warns

Pastor E.A. Adeboye, General Overseer of the
Redeemed Church, has warned that marriages
contracted on or through the social media
may not last. He gave the warning in a
sermon he preached on at the wedding of the
adopted daughter of President Goodluck
Jonathan, Faith and her husband, Godswill, in
Abuja.
Pastor Adeboye stressed that the success of
any marriage rests on the husband as head
and thus advised the groom to ensure that
the marriage succeeded. He urged him not to
criticise his wife but correct her in love.
Warning against the crazy for social
media affair, he said, "If you marry the
modern way like on Facebook, you may
likely divorce the modern way. Marry
traditionally and involve God."
The mention of the names of ex-President
Olusegun Obasanjo and Governor Rotimi
Amaechi attracted a loud ovation from the
congregation who were surprised, since both
men were not at the traditional marriage.
The extra security measures put in place for
the wedding by a combined team of all
security agencies led to a lock down in the
Federal Capital Territory, especially at the
Central Business District.
