The University of the old Oyo State, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology(LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, gets a New Anthem after 23yrs of existence. The old anthem was said to be that of the Student Union Government and that accounts for the "aluta" words contained in it; words like "Fighting for Peace and Justice", "Intimidation We Condole not".

Earlier this semester, a memorandum was passed by the school choral group led by Mr Akin Odesola, the memorandum implore students to submit lines and verse(s) they want to be included in the new anthem. Finally, today 2nd of april 2014, in a session attended by the school Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sulaiman Gbadegesin, the school Registrar, the university Public Relation Officer and the Head of Post Graduate schools, Student Leaders, which include the President of the Student Union, President of the Union of Campus Journalists, members of Man O' War, Cadet and Red Cross, at the Senate Chamber of the school. A prototype of the new Anthem was presented by the new Mass Choir.
