Philip Seymour Hoffman Found With 65 Bags Of Heroin, According To Latest Police Estimate

This story grows more heart-wrenching by the hour!

We had previously heard Philip Seymour Hoffman was found dead in his NYC apartment surrounded by 50 bags of heroin, but officials have revised their original estimate. They're now saying the 46-year-old actor was found with even more of the illicit narcotic than they first thought.

As it turns out, first responders found 65 bags filled with heroin in his apartment. This is in addition to five other empty bags, a variety of prescription medicine, and about 20 used syringes — one of which was tragically still sticking from his arm when he was found.

Ughh. It just breaks our heart.

The investigation is still underway, but cops analyzed the heroin found at the Catching Fire star's Greenwich Village pad and they're saying it was NOT laced with fentanyl.

In case you somehow hadn't heard, Philip's body was discovered on Sunday by friend and fellow artist David Katz. David had decided to check in on the iconic film and stage star after learning he had failed to pick up his kids earlier in the morning.

Rest in peace, good sir. You will continue to be missed
